WHAT NEXT?

WHAT NEXT?

You are now covered by the blood of the Lamb!

YOU ARE NOW COVERED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you are a Christian! (Romans 10:9) You might not feel any different, but the gospel is about facts not feelings, and if you have put your faith in Christ than you have been forgiven and He has come in to your life. You are a new creature and the Holy Spirit will Guide you in your personal relationshiop with God.

The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.

We believe that each individual is born in sin, and therefore is a sinner by nature, having nothing whereby he might justify himself before God the Father (Rom. 3:9-18; 5:12); that each individual must therefore receive the death of Jesus Christ and the shedding of His blood on the cross as for himself (John 1:12; Rom. 3:21-26; 4:16-25; 5:1-2), and in repentance must ask God’s forgiveness for his sins (Matt. 3:2; Mark 1:5; Acts 2:38; 17:30; 26:20); that having received Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord by faith, he is spiritually saved or born again (John 1:12; 3:3-4; Rom. 10:9-10, 13); that in regeneration the Holy Spirit is sent to permanently indwell, enable and empower the believer to walk in newness of life (Rom. 6:4; Eph. 2:1-10). Each believer is thereby a child of God and a member of the family of God for time and eternity (Rom. 8:1-39).

BAPTISM

BAPTISM

THE MEANING OF BAPTISM

Romans 6:3-4 New American Standard Bible (NASB)

3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

WE GET BAPTIZED BECAUSE JESUS WAS BAPTIZED

Matthew 3:13-17 (NASB)

The Baptism of Jesus

3 Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan coming to John, to be baptized by him. 14 But John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me?” 15 But Jesus answering said to him, “Permit it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he permitted Him. 16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”

THE LORD'S COMMAND

Matthew 28:19-20 (NASB)

19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

The BIBLE

The BIBLE

THE BIBLE

We believe the Bible to be the pure Word of God (Psalm 12:6), totally true (John 17:17), from which nothing can be subtracted and to which nothing can be added.

We believe in the plenary, verbal inspiration of the Scriptures in their original manuscripts (2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Tim. 3:16-1 7).

HOW TO STUDY THE BIBLE

  • Begin reading the Book of John

  • Read one chapter from the Old Testament, the book of Psalms and the book of Proverbs every day

  • Read the Word of God every day - Nehemiah 8:3

  • Memorize God's Word- Job 22:22

  • Meditate on God's Word - Joshua 1:8

  • Obey God's Word - Deuteronomy 31:12

BENEFITS OF READING THE WORD OF GOD

  • It gives you direction - Psalm 119:105

  • Keeps you from being dominated by sin - Psalm 119:11

  • It cleanses you - Psalm 119:9

sin

sin IS REAL

BUT YOU CAN BE its MASTER

Then the Lord said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, but you must master it.”~Genesis 4:6-7

No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.~ 1 Corinthians 10:13

For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace, because the mind set on the flesh is hostile toward God; for it does not subject itself to the law of God, for it is not even able to do so, and those who are in the flesh cannot please God. However, you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness. ~Romans 8:6-10

temptation IS NOT sin

Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone.  But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. ~James 1:12-15

6:4; Ephesians 2:1-10). Each believer is thereby a child of God and a member of the family of God for time and eternity (Rom. 8:1-39).

FAST

WHAT DOES FASTING DO?

  • Loose the bands of wickedness (things that are wrong/ bad)

  • Undo the heavy burdens (troubles)

  • Let the oppressed go free (from worry, doubts, temptations)

  • Break the yokes (things that bind you- ex.: attitudes, bad habits, etc.)

Fasting does not twist God's arm or make God move. It can help you (or someone else) to be a better person or follower.

JOIN A CHURCH AND FELLOWSHIP

In the New Testament there were churches made up of individual believers who lived in certain areas which constituted the church at Corinth, at Berea, at Philippi, etc. It is in this sense that ABIDING FAITH CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Inc. exists and is known as such.

The local church is composed of born-again believers who have voluntarily united together for the purpose of worshiping God, ministering to the saints (fellow believers), evangelizing the world, and discipleship of new believers (Acts 2:42; I Thess. 1:2-10).

It provides an opportunity for those who are of the same mind in Christ to meet together for the study of God’s Word, common prayer, social contact and mutual uplifting (Heb. 10:25).

ABIDING FAITH CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Inc. will never seek to exclude from its more general fellowship other believers who may belong to other churches or other denominations or who may differ from us in minor matters but nevertheless belong to the Body of Christ.

ALWAYS REMEMBER GOD HAS FORGIVEN YOU
